TYRI lights have been tested to IP67 & IP69K ensuring they are protected from:

  • Dust ingress
  • Water / moisture ingress
  • Immersion between 15cm & 1m in depth
  • High pressure cleaning

Work lights are subjected to a range of conditions such as dust, moisture and in some cases pressure washing. It is therefore important that when choosing work lights, you are confident that they are protected from these elements to ensure maximum longevity of your product.

IP ratings or Ingress Protection ratings, are defined in international standard IEC 60529. They are made up of a two digit number and in some cases an additional letter.

The first number represents how well the product resists solid objects impregnating the product housing. This is a digit from 0; indicating no protection to 6; which keeps out all objects including dust and fine particles.

The second number designates how well a device keeps moisture and water away from the electronic components in the product. This digit runs from 0; no protection to 8; total protection against prolonged effects of immersion in water. An additional rating of 9K gives protection against close-range high pressure, high temperature spray downs.

Most quality products will have an IP rating of IP67 and IP69K.

  • IP67 – Protected from total dust ingress and protected from immersion between 15 centimetres and 1 meter in depth.
  • IP69K – Protected from total dust ingress and protected from steam-jet cleaning.

Most work lights are used in environments that are harsh and unforgiving. These conditions often involve moisture and / or dust and require machines to be regularly cleaned with high pressure hoses which deliver cleaning in the form of water; sometimes at high temperature and chemicals. This can prove fatal to some work light circuitry.

IP69K rating offer complete peace of mind that your work light has undergone rigorous tests to ensure it is durable and conforms to the highest standard for protection against water, moisture and dust ingress.
