Research, design and perform product testing on new and existing light designs as well as competitive products; investigate, diagnose, and perform root cause analysis on test failures and returned material; design and build engineering prototypes and customer samples; read, create, and interpret engineering drawings; design and create engineering test plans; conduct engineering tests on products including random vibration, mechanical shock, environmental cycle, high pressure spray, immersion, impact, drop, bench handling, transit, and wire-pull; compose test reports; and, diagnosis and repair of assemblies. This position is based in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and two years of experience as an Associate Mechanical Engineer. In addition, the following specific skills are required:
- 2 years experience in writing procedures and documenting processes;
- 2 years experience designing tests and experiments;
- 2 years experience working with and communicating with outside vendors;
- 2 years experience performing inspections and troubleshooting issues;
- 2 years experience with technical writing and writing test reports; and,
- 2 years experience operating various manufacturing equipment and using inspection equipment.
