TYRI has signed the first major deal for their new intelligent lighting system INTELLilight with BELAZ, a world-leading manufacturer of dump trucks. BELAZ has placed an order for 100 TYRI INTELLilight systems to be installed on its 270-tonne trucks. Manufacturing and delivery will begin in 2020.
– We are very excited about this partnership. BELAZ is known for manufacturing mine dump trucks used in the most difficult challenges and the toughest environments. By choosing TYRI INTELLilight, it is a very clear proof that our new lighting system can withstand the toughest tests. For almost a year, BELAZ has tested our products to ensure that they meet the end customer’s requirements. Therefore, it is extra special that this has become our first big deal with TYRI INTELLilight, says Anders Wärnman, sales manager at TYRI Sweden.
BELAZ’s requirements included the specification that the lighting system must be integrated with BELAZ’s CANBUS system and controlled from the machine’s own interface. In addition, there was a precise requirement for the lighting to have the ability to easily adjust brightness and color temperature, as well as automatic dimming functionality.
– In the environment in which the machines are operated, glare has been a major problem that has created a large risk of collision. Automatic dimming, which was one of the main criteria for BELAZ, was solved with sensors on the machine that communicate with the lights.
BELAZ manufactures mining dump trucks from 90 to 450 tonnes. The model chosen for TYRI INTELLilight is the 270 tonne dump truck. The first hundred machines to be equipped with TYRI INTELLilight are earmarked for an end user customer who has particularly high demands on delivery.
INTELLilight is an intelligent system where each lamp has a built-in transmitter and receiver. All lamps are then connected via a wireless Mesh network. It creates a great deal of flexibility and reliability.
Manufacture of the INTELLilight systems has already begun with planned delivery in late 2020.
– We see a large interest in INTELLilight in the market, and we have a large number of systems being tested with many of the world’s largest manufacturers of work machines. We predict that 2021 will be a successful year for our new intelligent lighting system INTELLilight, concludes Anders Wärnman.
